Marc Headley: The Soulless Sellout
His face doesn’t appear on camera, but admitted tabloid source Marc Headley’s fingerprints are all over Alex Gibney’s HBO “Going Clear” film on the Church of Scientology. Caught selling stolen Church video equipment on eBay, Headley became an embittered zealot who, along with his wife, were behind a failed lawsuit alleging bogus “human trafficking” allegations against the Church that were tossed out by a federal judge. In other words, after being given every opportunity, the Headleys failed to prove their case and their lawsuit ended up dead on arrival. So frivolous was the case that the judge further ordered them to pay the Church $42,000 in legal costs. Nonetheless, Alex Gibney let co-producer Lawrence Wright dredge up the long-dead case ignoring that the court found that the couple enjoyed their service in the Church, came and went as they pleased, in contrast to the myths they invented.
